Welcome to my blog

Welcome. I’m Paul and this is my blog about my experiences in combat and what I have learned along the way that has helped me survive. I want to spread the word to people who are just looking for a no bullshit, to the point, and descriptive experiences that anyone can relate too.I have previous military and security combat experience that were various types of objectives that I had to complete. The focus point that I want to talk about in this blog post is what I do to stay and prepare myself along with my gear for any type of mission. In future blogs, I will go in complete detail with the topics discussed below in the preparation for any mission. This blog is to have a starting point to build various concepts from. There are some missions that will require you to have specialized training that will help you complete your mission. You are highly encouraged to check out our training part of this website and compare it to other training that you will take, you will be impressed by the instructor’s knowledge of training also the way that the information is presented in the courses. I want everyone to also understand that every single experience that they have should be kept in a “bag of knowledge” that can be applied in a different scenario. I keep this “bag of knowledge” readily accessible to add new knowledge to existing concepts. There might be concepts that I update due to new knowledge or being in a better physical conditioning state. I train and understand all the uses for the gear before I go to conduct my missions. The combat environment is always changing which requires me to remain adaptive in all scenarios.
First, I want to start with a very important part of myself that I only can control and train. I’m talking about my mental conditioning to help me stay focused on completing my objectives in a timely manner. Mental conditioning allows me to complete multiple tasks by keeping in control of my stress. I continually try to feed my “hunger” for more knowledge by searching out new techniques and by reviewing old techniques. By understanding many different concepts from before, helps me handle mental stresses by knowing what to do exactly in many different scenarios. I learn what to do in a safe manner to keep myself and teammates safe. I’m not talking about being so cautious on safety that it hinders my ability to complete the mission. I establish a task list to help manage myself in a pocket-sized notebook. This method helps me from getting too overwhelmed by having a lot of things going on mentally. One way to complete mental conditioning without being in a life changing event, is to push myself during physical training. I use a method to train myself is to “Keep It Simple Stupid” or K.I.S.S. “There will always be an option that I can choose in any scenario.” I try to focus on the tasks on hand rather than focusing on other issues that can be handled later. These are just a few examples of what I use for my mental conditioning.
Second, I build everything from achieving a physical advantage over my enemies based through workouts and dieting with supplementation. My workouts are based on the physical obstacles that I had to overcome to accomplish the mission. Having a controlled heart rate, helps my accuracy when I would engage combatants after overcoming physical barriers. It was very usual to go on a mission and clear a few building structures before I would set up my last firing position. Many other missions have similar physical requirements. To prepare for this, I would run every other day to give myself a break to incorporate a HIIT training sessions that would
build the cardio with conditioning strength. I also train Combatives to help with my handling of
innocent people who need to be handled with care. Combatives also is beneficial mentally.
Training physically, I exert everything that I have to build a new level of conditioning. I do have
a stretching regiment that I use to keep my body limber and flexible. A moderately clean diet
keeps my muscles fueled throughout the extreme demands of combat. I tend to eat simple but
effective foods that are very common and easy to purchase from a local store. I supplement my
diet with additional protein and vitamins that I use more than I can normally replace from a
common diet. I purchase generic brands that accomplish the same goals as high priced brands.
Eating and supplementation has kept me striving for higher physical advantages over my
enemies.
Lastly, another many focus I have would be having gear that would help me complete my
mission task requirements. I establish the minimum equipment requirements that I would need
to have to complete my missions. There are some missions that I would not use a plate carrier. I
start with the basic plate carrier with ballistic plates. A medical kit that I can access on my kit is
a definite must have. The mission dictates what type of weapon that I will be using and type of
ammunitions. Each mission will determine the gear loadout that you will be using. I would
prepare mentally as well before I would go out on mission by conducting a visualize and a quick
gear layout to conduct my Preventive Maintenance on the gear. The smallest thing that you
wouldn’t expect to have such a devastating effect on the mission will fail. That is why it is
imperative that I go through my gear to replace batteries, clean your eye protection (sunglasses
great way to look with reducing eye strain from the sunlight in day missions) and lenses on your
optics, my magazine and round count, and one of the final things to check is my individual first
aid kit. These are a few ways that I go about preparing myself and my gear for any type of
mission.
These are a few of my ways to prepare myself for combat. I start by training myself mentally to
overcome the stresses of the battlefield. I build myself physically by keeping in top operating
condition through dieting, physical training, and supplementation. Finally, by fully
understanding how my gear operates will give me those extra few seconds between life and
death. I will dive into each of these topics individually to discuss every detail. I’m excited to
teach everyone my methods and concepts that have worked for me. Hope you are excited as
much as I am in looking forward to discussing these topics in depth.
