Welcome back, warriors. So in today’s blog, I would like to talk about a murder that happened in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. So last week the ex-governor of Jalisco was gunned down while spending the night out in the hotel district in Puerto Vallarta. What we are going to do is discuss what could have prevented his murder.
So first, this is what we know. Governor Sandoval arrived at a restaurant around 2200 at night. They stayed at the restaurant until the attack occurred. At roughly 0140 in the morning, Governor Sandoval was using the restroom at the restaurant, when a gunman followed him in there and proceeded to shoot him in the back. So what we need to figure out is how could of this have been prevented.
Would you be surprised if you heard that Governor Sandoval had a 15 man bodyguard team and two armored vehicles? I wouldn’t, being a high ranking politician is not the safest job to have in Mexico. What I did find surprising is that out of all of his resources for protection he only had two bodyguards with him at the time of his murder. That has to be a huge contributing factor to his murder. Is it possible that if a bodyguard was with him in the bathroom that he would still be alive today? Absolutely. Remember, if you don’t use your resources, they won’t help you. I don’t know why he didn’t feel the need to have more protection with him, but I do know this. Complacency kills. And in my opinion, that’s what happened. When there are people out there that want you dead, you should believe that they will try to kill you.
If you are given bodyguards for protection, use them. It’s what they get paid for. Obviously, it is not always convenient to have people around you. But what is way more inconvenient is to get shot, just saying.
So it’s my opinion that Governor Sandoval was murdered, but complacency killed him. Bodyguards talk to your client. Tell them that it is not fair to you if you are not allowed to do your job and then something bad happens.
Well, that wraps up today’s blog. Remember if you have any questions or comment’s feel free to post them. And as always stay safe out there.
