Welcome back, warriors. Today’s goal is to clear up my last blog. It might have felt after reading my last blog that I was coming down hard on law enforcement or even anti-law enforcement. Rest assured I am very pro-law enforcement. Having not just served in the military but served as a military police officer I get it.
One thing I need to get across right off the bat is if you are trained to control a suspect by applying force to his neck with your knee that’s ok.
Pain compliance is an effective way to get the suspect to do what you want. Just remember once you have the suspect in cuffs it’s time for the next step. Placing him in a secure vehicle. If the suspect doesn’t want to get in the vehicle on his own, you might have to carry him and throw him in. If that’s the case then so be it, he made his choice.
The point I was trying to get across in my last blog is that as a prior military member. I hold my self to a higher standard. And as law enforcement officer’s you need to as well. And not just your self, you need to hold the man or woman standing next to you to that high standard as well.
